An essential device to stay cool all summer long, the mobile air conditioner is available in different models to adapt to all needs. Mobile air conditioner with or without vent, monobloc air conditioner, split, reversible, silent... We help you see more clearly when choosing the mobile air conditioner that will cool your home this summer.

Which mobile air conditioner to choose?

      The monobloc air conditioner

The monobloc air conditioner is the mobile air conditioner with exhaust the most widespread on the market today. It offers excellent value for money: it is efficient without being too bulky. On a monobloc mobile air conditioner, the hot air is evacuated by means of a hose that can be slipped through the crack of a window. There are two versions of monobloc air conditioners:

      • The single-hose monobloc air conditioner: this is the cheapest type of air conditioner, but it can sometimes be noisy. Its use is simple, you just have to point its exhaust hose outwards to remove hot air and cool the room.
      • The monobloc double hose air conditioner: this air conditioner is more expensive than its previous one but also more efficient and less energy-consuming. It has two hoses: one to suck in the outside air, the other to exhaust the hot air. The air is thus better renewed.

In all cases, the monobloc air conditioner must be placed near a window or an opening to slide the duct into the gap and allow the hot air to exit the dwelling.

      The mobile split air conditioner

The split air conditioner is composed of two units:

      • The indoor unit: the fan, which will absorb the hot air from the room and return fresh air thanks to its refrigerant. The hot air will then be evacuated to the outdoor unit through a flexible hose connecting the two components.
      • The outdoor unit, composed of a compressor and a condenser will evacuate the accumulated hot air to the outside.

The advantage of the mobile split air conditioner is mainly found in the noise level. Indeed, the compressor and condenser, which are the noisiest components, are placed outside, which will avoid noise disturbances. This type of air conditioner is easier to install in a house than in an apartment in a building.

      Reversible mobile air conditioning

The mobile air conditioner can also be equipped with different options for more comfortable everyday use. Some offer a reversible option, allowing them to be used as small auxiliary heaters for the autumn and winter seasons. A two-in-one device that will be useful all year round!
